Zkratka L-RVB znamená Luminance, Red, Green a Blue (jas, červená, zelená a modrá). Tyto filtry jsou speciálně navrženy pro astrofotografii. Pro získání barevného obrazu z černobílé kamery. S každým filtrem se pořídí snímek, který se poté zpracuje v počítači a zkombinuje do barevného obrazu. Fotografování přes filtr L zvyšuje kontrast.
Použití barevné kamery eliminuje potřebu těchto filtrů, ale pouze černobílá kamera plně využívá rozlišení snímače a umožňuje také použití úzkopásmových filtrů.
